Very sad news. I remember Tom from our R.M.P. days in B.A.O.R.A, great bloke to work with. I last saw him many many years ago at the Farnborough air show. He was then M.O.D. Police and I was Metropolitan Police. R.I.P my old friend.

Although I never had the opportunity to work closely with Tom I knew him as a down to earth, no nonsense manager dedicated to The MDP. RIP Sir

Very saddened to hear of Tom’s passing. My everlasting memory of Tom was when I was a CID aide at Portsmouth Dockyard back in 1987 and Tom was interviewing a suspect who’d put a spanner in a warship’s engine so that his ship wouldn’t sail. I was convinced the guy was innocent but through Tom’s excellent questioning technique and a gut instinct that ‘he knew’ it all came out in the end. I had the utmost respect for his detective capabilities and professionalism. In the office he was very helpful to me and other CID aides and nothing was too much trouble for him. My sincere condolences to Tom’s family and friends. Former Chief Superintendent, Rob Hoblin.
